MOVIE UNDER THE STARS
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25
7:00 – 9:30 PM, ATRIUM
Women’s Ministry invites you to an “Enchanted” evening with friends. We will be transforming our atrium into an “outdoor” movie venue complete with our own concession stand. Come enjoy your favorite movie treats while viewing the Disney movie “Enchanted” with girlfriends. There will be fun games, great giveaways and an opportunity to meet new friends. We’ll watch the movie together and then discuss themes that are applicable to any woman’s life. The evening is open to women of all ages from senior high young women through Grand Life women.
Admission for the movie is a donation for our Spring Into Service projects. The projects we will be collecting for include:
Suited for Change Project
Mission:
Suited for Change enables low-income women to increase their employment and job retention potential and contributes to their economic independence.
Sizes most needed:
Clothing in size 16 +
Shoes in size 10 -12
Suited For Change can only accept items that are pressed and on hangers. The donations should also reflect the Spring/ Summer season so the items can give our clients the greatest benefit. Blouses, shoes, suits, blazers, dresses, slacks, skirts, purses, briefcases, belts, scarves, jewelry, and new, unopened hosiery particularly in Queen sizes. They do not accept underwear, lingerie, sweaters, bathrobes, slippers, stained clothing, garment bags, clothing that has been altered or tailored or men’s clothing.
Borromeo House Project
Mission:
Borromeo Housing, Inc. (BHI) is an Arlington, Virginia-based nonprofit that administers a three-year education, housing and life skills development program for homeless young mothers, ages 16 to 22, and their babies. BHI believes that all young mothers facing homelessness can achieve an education and attain professional employment while being responsible parents to their children. BHI offers a quality living environment, nurturing support and a disciplined framework to young mothers who are motivated and capable of using our services to achieve their goals.
Donations:
For the Infant Care Supply Center (supports those in the house and in the community): diapers, baby wipes, pull-ups, new or gently-used baby clothes (NB-5T), baby blankets, unopened cans of baby food and formula, books.
Here’s your chance to invite that neighbor, co-worker or friend and pour a cup of friendship into her life. This is a great non-threatening way to introduce her to the love of Christ.
