The Scouting Program at Immanuel Bible Church
Scouting at Immanuel encompasses three programs: Cub Scouts,
Boy Scouts, and American Heritage
Girls.
CUB SCOUTS
The Cub Scout program is composed of five years of graduated
activities as follows:
Tiger Cubs: 1st graders
Wolf: 2nd graders
Bear: 3rd graders
Webelos: 4th graders
Webelos ll: 5th graders
A boy can enter at any age. Each level has its own book and advancement
program that results in a avariety of badges, pins, and other
awards. The initial part of the advancement program (except for
Tiger Cubs) is to qualify for the Bobcat badge. This covers the
basics of Cub Scouting, e.g., the Cub Scout Promise and handshake.
Advancing to Bobcat is done in a short time and must be done
once by any Cub Scout, no matter what age they enter the program.
Any boys joining later into one of the older groups will complete
the Bobcat requirements and then go directly to the program for
their age (for example, go from Bobcat directly to Bear or Webelos
dens, skipping the badges between those ranks.)
The goals for our packs are to
Keep it simple and make it fun.
Involve all parents equally.
Develop and maintain an interest for continuing in scouting.

BOY SCOUTS
Immanuel Bible Church has the outstanding honor of recognizing five young men who recently were awarded Scouting's highest rank. William Nelson, Joshua Ritter, Michael Sewall, Jonathan Smithers, and Abel Teklu were awarded the rank of Eagle Scout during a ceremony held in February.
According to the Boy Scouts of America, Eagle scouts will have earned a total of 21 merit badges including badges in citizenship in the community, nation, and world; badges in communications, personal fitness, environmental science, and personal management. Additionally, while a Life Scout, they must plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to any religious institution, any school, or their community. (The project should benefit an organization other than Boy Scouting.) They will also have taken part in a Scoutmaster conference and successfully completed an Eagle Scout board of review.
The Boy Scout program is available to boys who have completed
the fifth grade and are at least ten years old, or who are eleven,
but not yet eighteen years old or have earned the Arrow of Light
Award and are at least ten years old.
The Boy Scouts was one of the traditional membership divisions
of the BSA, Boy Scouts of
America. The program acheves the BSA's
objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal
fitness qualities among youth by focusing on a vigorous program
of outdoor activities.
AMERICAN HERITAGE GIRLS
The American Heritage Girls organization is a scouting program
for girls that supports the traditional values of God, Family,
and Country. AHG's programming promotes the Judeo-Christian values
upon which our country was founded and strives to enhance the
girls' life experiences with fun-filled activities supervised
by trained adults, supported by family members, and implemented
by members. AHG's programming provides life skills, leaderhip
skills, and character building through a traditional troop setting.
RELIGIOUS AWARD
All Scouting programs are eligible to earn a religious medal,
patch, and certificate that is age-appropriate to the different
grade levels. All programs are chartered through Immanuel Bible
Church and each group's by-laws are written in accordance with
the church's statement of faith.
