Bob and Nancy Welch

Bob is a Michigan-grown boy. Raised around lakes, swimming was an early favorite pastime. However, his parents made sure there was time for piano lessons and practice. Listening to great music of all kinds became another passion in Bob’s early years and began to shape what was to be a life-long vehicle of ministry. Grateful for the teaching of godly parents, Bob gave his life to Christ at thirteen years of age. Through high school, college and graduate studies - keyboard, voice, composing, arranging and directing became a passion God chose to form his life’s ministry.

In 1967, Bob met Nancy Buehler and was immediately stricken. Nancy, also raised around lakes, added new dimensions to Bob’s water enjoyment through water skiing, white water rafting, sailing and jet skiing. They married in 1969 and Nancy has been his partner in ministry serving alongside him as pianist, secretary, choir member, and strongest support system. Bob and Nancy have two grown children. Aaron, their son, is a music minister in Canton, Michigan. He and his wife Jenifer have four children, Emily, Weston, Treyson, and Molley. Their daughter, Kirstin, and her husband Kevin, have two girls, Kate and Lucy, and reside in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bob and Nancy have ministered at Immanuel since January1983, and are overwhelmed at the love and support given them through this congregation.
