Danny and Kristen Leavins

Danny and Kristen came to the Washington, D.C. area in the summer of 2002 and began attending Immanuel and the Teammates ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship). Danny had just finished his Masters of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary and was about to begin his Ph.D. work in Semitics at The Catholic University of America. Kristen had just ended her four-year high school teaching career and was preparing for a new career as a mother.

Since the summer of 2002, Kristen has become the mother of three daughters, Abigail, Eliza, and Anna. She has also been involved with many Immanuel ministries including Teammates and MOPS. Along with becoming a father, Danny has finished his coursework for his Ph.D. and is writing his dissertation (a thrilling study of a group of Hebrew verbs). He began working with Venture (IBC’s young adult ministry) in the summer of 2004; in the fall of 2006 he became the Young Adults Pastor.

Danny has a passion for the Scriptures, especially the Old Testament. He loves to study the Bible diligently, apply it to his life, and teach and preach its message to young adults. Kristen has a passion for relationships which makes her a great mother, an indispensable companion to Danny, and a loyal friend.

Danny and Kristen both love to read, to spend time with friends, and to watch college football in the fall. They both follow their colleges (Auburn for Danny, Florida for Kristen) with great fervor. Other than SEC football, Danny’s favorite things are: Hebrew, Dr. Pepper, and ice cream. Kristen’s favorite things are: friends, scrap booking, and friends.
