Dr. Jack and Kelly Merenda

Jack Merenda is native to southern California and attended Fountain Valley High School near Huntington Beach. He became a Christian at 19 years of age, and this changed the course of his life. He developed a deep hunger to learn all he could about God, relationships, and emotional healing. He attended Orange Coast Community College (AA), Biola University (BA), and Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University (MA, Psy.D.).

In 1992, Jack received a doctorate in clinical psychology with a strong emphasis in Bible and Theology from Rosemead and Talbot Theological Seminary, both on the campus of Biola University. He is a licensed clinical psychologist and since 1999 has also been a pastor. Jack has a heart for hurting people and a desire to see the Church mirror the heart of Christ as a healing community.

He has been happily married for 18 years to his Biola sweetheart, Kelly. She is very thankful to have been raised in a Christian home, and believed in Jesus for salvation at five years of age. Kelly earned degrees in education and sociology and currently enjoys tutoring at Immanuel Christian School. The Merendas have three children. For hobbies, Jack loves music, nature, astronomy, baseball, and learning "how to play" from his children.

The Merendas moved to Springfield to serve at Immanuel in September 2006.
