Iron Sharpens Iron 2008

Washington Area Coalition of Men's Ministries (WACMM) hosted the March 1 Iron Sharpens Iron event at Immanuel which featured speakers Steve Farrar and Phil Downer. Steve Farrar is the founder of Men’s Leadership Ministries. He is the author of the best-selling book, Point Man: How a Man Can Lead His Family. With half a million copies in print, Point Man was the catalyst for Steve leaving the pastorate after fifteen years and focusing his ministry on equipping men for spiritual leadership.

Phil Downer serves as President of the Discipleship Network of America. He speaks across the nation to men and is the author of Eternal Impact. Phil served in Vietnam as a Marine machine gunner, was a lawyer and senior partner in an Atlanta law firm and served ten years as President of CBMC.

Iron Sharpens Iron hosts events across America. Immanuel's Discipleship and Family Pastor Tom Joyce will speak at the Woodstream Church in Mitchelville, Maryland April 5, along with pastor Joseph Garlington of Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, PA.(more information)
