World Missions
The vision
of Immanuel World Missions is to be "loving internationals as God loves them,"
and our mission is to be "
making disciples cross-culturally." Whether across the street or around the world,
these phrases represent tangilbe ways for the people of Immanuel
Bible Church to live out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
World Missions oversees a number of different programs and ministries.
English as a Second Language (ESL) provides classroom teaching,
an ESL Cafe, and conversation partners to more than 335 students
speaking 60 different languages, all through volunteers. Our
Immanuel's Hope Ministry expanded its influence in our local
community over the past year as it received 1,835 visits on Wednesday
evenings from families in need of clothing, household items,
and furniture.
Local outreach fellowships to the international community provide
training, encouragement, prayer, and bring together English-speaking
internationals and Americans for Bible teaching and close relationships.
Immanuel continues to add new missionaries, with ministry efforts
being supported in 18 countires under 28 agencies. Efforts have
been made to strenthen our ability to provide missionary care;
many ABFs have been trained on ministring to and communication
with their missionaries.
