Buddy and Penny Wood

The Celebration Service of the life of Buddy Wood was held Saturday, January 26, in the Immanuel Worship Center. Buddy had fought a long and enduring battle with brain cancer and passed into the Lord's hands on January 23. Many of us have been encouraged through Buddy's and Penny's journey.

From their Caring Bridge website: "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NIV

Buddy wrote movingly and eloquently in his "Glimpses from the Garrison," encouraging us with his relationship with God and hoping to glorify God thru this season of his life. In an interview with Dr. Michael Easley, President of Moody Bible Insitute, Buddy and Penny spoke of the grace that had been poured out into their lives over the past months of his illness.
